You’d be surprised about how many of us are actually normal people that just love our boys and their music.

Also that there are always two sides to a fandom and you never really know what anyone is going through (which is v cheesy but also v true so HUSH). And she puts so much in her books, from racial rep, to different religions, to sexual rep, to mental health. The way these are written are so respectful to teenage girls that still are experiencing this love, yet are shedding some light on the fact that a fandom isn’t always going to be your one and only love, an important fact that i definitely wish i’d have learned when i was a teenager. Perhaps you’re getting this from my list, but this book has some of the most nuanced character arcs I’ve had the pleasure of reading in recent memory. I also wished for more closure at the end, even though I like it when stories have more of an open end.

And we have Jimmy Ricia, front man of The Arc band , who is currently going to a tough phase in his life managing himself between all this fame, new contract , loads of work and of course his mental health. As a young reader I absolutely adore her books and online comics and art, but this book was by far my favourite. For Angel Rahimi life is about one thing: The Ark - a pop-rock trio of teenage boys who are taking the world by storm. This Winter has a really nice thick, plasticy cover with the shiny title, whereas the rest are printed on cheap feeling paper, and the covers are just thin card paper with title misprints. When I closed the last page of this book, I had a million more questions than the entire time while reading. I loved the characters though, and it was super readable, but unlike Radio Silence it didn’t feel completely realistic and that disrupted my reading experience a little. The million copy bestseller, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, is an immensely powerful and heartbreaking novel of brotherly love and. This story is written from both Angel and Jimmy’s perspective and it adds honestly so much to the story. Her family members, especially her mother, think it’s just a phase and chastise her obsession, but Angel stands strong in her love of the band. But maybe there’s some value in slice of life - when it comes down to it, this is a book about being okay with not being okay.

This book hit a bit too close to me , like if I say it's probably going to be one of my favourite books it's going to be a bit of understatement . First of all, I love how this book was the biggest advocate of love and passion, of investing your time in the things that produce the purest secret happiness. This story is about Angel Rahimi, a hijabi Muslim teen whose life revolves around The Ark, an internationally famous boy band. It’s kind of funny how much this quote resonates with me even though I’m an adult in every sense of the word. The book follows up a story of a teen, hijabi Muslim girl Angel who is like a huge fan of this teen boy band 'The Arc' and she is visiting her online friend Julie for first time so they can attend this concert of The Arc .Jimmy also has to figure out how to be his own person when he has a relentless touring schedule for his band and no free time to make “normal” friends or have “normal” experiences while living in London. It is an interesting reflection of what as fans we can do for those we follow, and the lines we sometimes cross; and how money, spotlights, and fame can be blinding and stressful. She is my wife you hear me yes she is my wife like she is so funny and savage , literally I can marry her . If you’re a public person to come out can be so much worse because everyone and their grandma knows it. The message is that you can be a part of a fandom or similar, but do not lose yourself in it and remember to take a break from time to time to focus on the really important things in your life.
