It’s strong and made with premium grade outdoor fabric with UPF50+ protection – ideal for holiday travel. It’s a premium grade outdoor fabric that is as waterproof as you can get and with a UPF50 rating too so your little one is protected, cool and dry whatever the weather. We’ve had a few compact strollers over the years, starting with the Maclaren Mark II (nice but doesn’t recline), the Silvercross Jet (great for babies but wobbly with bigger toddlers) and the Babyzen Yoyo (a really good one but bumpy on uneven surfaces).

That’s why we’ve added extra suspension for the smoothest ride of any compact, so you don't have to compromise. And, like I said above, because it’s so light, you can just pick the whole thing up with your baby inside if you come to a huge step! Also, I don't love the loose fabric + pocket behind the seat, which is still loose when you collapse the stroller, until you play with it and the Velcro. Adele’s three-year-old didn’t wriggle free of the straps so she felt confident that the harness was secure at all times. However, at around 20 months, I realised that Theo no longer needed such a cumbersome pram frame and that it was time to reclaim my car boot space!

Today I’m reviewing the Micralite ProFold, a compact stroller perfect for both travelling and everyday adventures. But honesty - 6 or 7 kg, not much of a difference you can feel unless you are carrying both at the same time.

When we got our first pushchair for George – now almost 6 years ago – I didn’t think one-handed fold was an important feature in a stroller. As a main pushchair, however, it’s just as suited to families with limited storage space or who live up long flights of stairs. The foot rest also kicks up into a flat position, so your child can comfortably lay flat out in the land of slumber.

If you need a buggy that doesn’t monopolise space in the car boot and can be taken on holiday, the Micralite ProFold may fit the bill.

The suspension on it makes a huge difference and makes this stroller a genuine option for everyday use as it can easily be used on most surfaces. We’ve got this one, although we’ve had it a fair few years now so it might be an older version that we’ve got. It would be so perfect for a caravan/camping holiday or a staycation, there is so much you need to take with children and this space-saving stroller can be popped in the boot, taking up hardly any space.

The buggy’s new colourway boasts sophisticated grey melange fabrics and coordinating chest and harness pads. I don’t expect the handlebar to be adjustable on a compact stroller but it definitely needs to be longer. The slim design might not be ideal for people with bigger toddlers but this would probably be an issue with any lightweight stroller.Holly: If I was looking to spend as much as this on a stroller I would definitely choose this pushchair. I have a Fawn Design that doesn’t fit at all, and my husband has a backpack style that fits when completely empty but not full.
